I was recently a proud sponsor of a dramatic musical, which dealt with domestic violence, prevention and redemption. As a result of my sponsorship, I had the pleasure of meeting Yvette Cade on opening night. Yvette Cade is the Maryland woman who was set on fire by her ex-husband. She was our special guest that evening and I was blessed to spend time with her and her family.
I was struck by Yvette's grace, strength, courage and kindness. My life will be forever impacted by meeting her and as we continue to work together toward a common goal of preventing domestic violence. Yvette Cade has endured many surgeries to heal from her terrible burn scars and has many more surgeries ahead. Yvette's strength comes from her total dependence on the Lord. Any encouragement and support that she receives, she passes onto others.
